Kolber began her career as a journalist in New York City as a CBS Sports video coordinator. She took home a Sports Emmy while working at WTVJ-TV, Miami. She worked at WPLG-TV, Miami as well as WPEC-TV West Palm Beach. The station was selected as anchor of ESPN2 in 1993 when the channel launched for the first time.
